The Lost Abbey Trail

Tucked by the River Thames, the Abbey Gardens and Abbey Meadows are a beautiful and relaxing space available to all. Feed the ducks, stroll through the meadows or enjoy the carefully kept gardens. In addition, amongst this beauty, is the Lost Abbey Trail, an outline of the once great Abingdon Abbey, visited by Henry VIII. It was the fifth richest Abbey at the time of the dissolution by Henry VII.

Explore the Lost Abbey Trail boards to find out more information on what would have gone on at Abingdon Abbey. Start the trail at Abbey Close car park OX14 3JE
